During the summer and into the fall, Kentucky experiences a lot of different types of weather. Some types are a lot harsher than others, but often times these storms bring heavy rain, flooding, and tornadoes. In our area, we can even experience rain and storming from hurricanes traveling up the coast.
Any of these types of storms can cause issues to your home or business. No matter what happens, is it important to know the different types of damage that could be caused by a storm.
Wind Damage: Most of the time, this involved your roof. This could be anything from a few shingles, to your entire roof gone. Even if there are an only a few shingles missing, you need to have a professional come out to take a look, as it can cause large leaks in your home. This can even lead to mold being developed if not quickly dried out.
Flooding Damage: With many caves, and lowlands around Kentucky, it is easy for homes, basements, road and driveways to flood. After the flooding is ceasing, SERVPRO of Allen, Barren, Hart, Green and Taylor Counties can help you dry out, and rebuild your life back.
Lighting Damage: If a bolt of lightning strikes your home or business, it can cause a fire to quickly start. It does this through the static discharge it gives off when running through the home.
